Pellets Special ll ts Sp Start-up for customised wood chip dryer Sneak preview of new Bruks 1006 ST chipper Spanish industrial dryer specialists Recalor, have recently supplied and started up a wood chip dryer for a completely new 40 000 tonne-per-annum pellet plant in Spain. Located in Sanchonuño, Segovia, Naturpellet is a new joint venture company formed by Pallet Tama S.L., and Calor Erbi S.L. According to a statement it is a custom-designed dryer line with a capacity of 5 tonnes per hour of final product. The installation is distinguished by its mixing chamber, where hot gases from the biomass furnace are mixed with return gases, resulting in an energy saving of 10-13 percent of the total thermal consumption. The mixed gases pass through an ash and sand separating system where sand, sparks and ashes – coming from the mixing chamber – are separated. The result is optimally dried chips for the production of EnPlus A1 quality pellets. A sneak preview of the new Bruks 1006 ST. (Left) Ola Galfvensjö and Micke Brorsson from Bruks together with Markus Österman from Berggrens Skogsentreprenad AB, the forest fuel contractor that has taken delivery of the first chipper. – We opted to have it mounted on a forwarder for easier manoeuvrability The Swedish mobile chipper manufacturers Bruks AB, a division of the Bruks Group, has launched its largest model to date, the 1006 ST chipper. According to Ola Galfvensjö, Sales Manager Mobile Chippers, the chipping industry is moving from terrain to roadside and terminal, and the new model reflects these changes. – The 1006 chipper is customised for these new demands from the market; robust chipper housing, bigger drum, stronger engine and wider infeed are just some of the new benefits, maintaining production with low fuel consumption and high quality energy chips, explained Ola. The first pre-serial machine has been delivered to a Swedish customer; an ST model that is undergoing thorough testing and a second pre-serial machine has been supplied to a client in Finland. The 1006 ST is powered by a 565 kW (768 hp) Volvo diesel engine and can be mounted on a trailer, truck or forwarder, and equipped with slewing ring for even greater flexibility. The new drum has a 1000 mm diameter and the infeed opening is 750 x 1200 mm. This enables easy and effective chipping of logging slash as well as roundwood with a max. diameter of 50-60 cm. Chips are screened en route to the hydraulic-powered chip accelerator The German mechanical engineering and plant construction group Dieffenbacher have passed client acceptance of their first pellet plant line in the US. Located in Aliceville, Alabama, Westervelt Renewable Energy is an operating unit of The Westervelt Company, one of the largest timberland owners in the country. Diffenbacher were selected as process engineering vendor and supplied both the energy plant and the 280 000 tonne pellet plant. Southern Yellow Pine is used as feedstock, and production is for European utility markets. Zhengchang, one of China’s major feed and biomass machinery manufacturers, has announced that it has been awarded a contract to build a 15 tonne- per-hour capacity wood pellet line in Brazil. The US$6.6 million deal was signed with Brazilian company Transbema Ltda and the plant is to be located in State Rio Grande Do Sul, Brazil. Zhengchang has also signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Export and Credit Insurance Corporation, SINOSURE to provide overseas customers with financial services. The contract with Transbema is the first to utilise this service. The project is the first biomass project for Zhengchang in South America. According to the company, plant construction began at the end of 2014 and is expected to be operational by August 2015. The feedstock to be used is pine, 80 percent of which will be supplied as roundwood with the remainder supplied as shavings. Transbema is working with several local forestry companies in southern Brazil. The plant will have an annual production capacity of 100 000 tonnes and the pellets are destined for the European power utility and household markets. 30 Bioenergy International PS1 2015 PS1/4685/AS ZZZGHWLNDWXUDQFRP Leading bulk terminal in the Stockholm area - sea, road and rail. +46(0)155-25 80 00 · www.oxhamn.se 250 000 m2 storage area · 1 000 m quays · 8 000 m rail tracks · 16,5 m water depth PS1/4727/XS and chip tube.
