A new Standard was published in September 2022 : EN 17645 . It concerns outdoor pools (as defined in EN 16582) intended to be permanently installed (inground and above ground pools) The main objectives of this standard is to bring an environmental assessment of the use of residential swimming pools by: • Addressing the environmental performances of domestic swimming pools, • Improving the efficiency of the products and encourage the development of energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly products, • Promoting good practices in terms of energy savings. Quick Start Guides (QSG) In order to reduce our environmental footprint, a shorter and simplified version of the user manual is progressively delivered with each heat pumps. It allows to reduce the number of pages up to 60%. The complete user manual is still available on brands websites and inside the App. R290, a propane refrigerant gas, is becoming the best environmental new alternative to R32 thanks to a lower Global Warming Potential (GWP). • GWP R290 = 3 • GWP R32 = 675 ENVIRONMENTAL STANDARD (EN 17645) R290 A NEW GREENER GAS (PROPANE) > WHICH IMPACT FOR HEAT PUMPS ? • The performances of a heat pump is based on a SCOP (Seasonal Coefficient Performance) calculation. It corresponds to a class from A to F which allows to compare all the heat pumps on the market under the same conditions. • “A” means the heat pump has a very good efficiency, “F” a much lower efficiency. > HOW TO CALCULATE A SCOP We measure 5 different COP of the heat pump at different air temperatures and compressor speeds such as: • COP at 7°C Air at 100% compressor speed • COP at 15°C Air at 30%, 65% and 100% compressor speed • COP at 26°C Air at 30% compressor speed Then, the SCOP will be calculated using a formula weighting the measured COP SCOP of the heating system Corresponding class SCOP ≥ 7 A 7 > SCOP ≥ 6 B 6 > SCOP ≥ 4 C 4 > SCOP ≥ 3 D 3 > SCOP ≥ 1 E SCOP < 1 F In addition to its lower GWP impact, R290 also has high energy efficiency and keep very good performances. > DID YOU KNOW ?
