UN Global Compact commitments
The United Nations Global Compact is an initiative
for businesses that are committed to aligning their
operations and strategies with ten universally
accepted principles in the areas of human rights,
labor, environment and anti-corruption. With more
than 9,900 company participants in 160 countries,
the UN Global Compact is the world’s largest voluntary

corporate sustainability initiative. AAK has been
participating in UN Global Compact since 2003.
Principles Examples of AAK commitments
AAK recognise the rights of its workers to freedom of
association and collective bargaining, including the
right to freely form and join independent trade unions.
Labor rights are addressed in AAK’s Sustainability
Policy (page 55).
Modern slavery issues are addressed in AAK’s
statement on Modern Slavery Act (page 27).
AAK does not support any form of discrimination.
Anti-harassment and discrimination will be part of
the Ethical Behavior training to be developed and
launched during 2020. See page 17.
Human rights Businesses should support
and respect the protection
of internationally proclaimed
human rights; and
Make sure that they are not
complicit in human rights
abuses.
Labor Businesses should uphold
freedom of association and
the effective recognition
of the right to collective
bargaining;
The elimination of all forms
of forced and compulsory
labor;
The effective abolition
of child labor and;
The elimination of
discrimi nation in respect of
employment and occupation.
AAK supports the ten principles of UNGC in the
areas of human and labour rights and communicates
this to all employees in our Group Code of
Conduct. The Code is accepted and sighed by all
AAK employees (page 17).
AAK Supplier Code of Conduct and Code of
Conduct for Suppliers of Raw Materials is an
integral part of the approval system for suppliers
and our direct suppliers are required to approve
and sign it (page 55).
AAK has an active whistleblower function
implemented.
